WWII Re-enactment South West
Known as “The home for Second World War re-enactors in South West England and South Wales”. Whether you are an independent re-enactor or a member of a specific unit within the south west the purpose of this site and the associated member’s forum is to link together all serious and authentic Second World War re-enactors, in order that we can share experience, knowledge and the enjoyment of our hobby.
Home Front History
We are dedicated to keeping alive the memory and spirit of Remembrance for the generation on Britain’s Home Front during WW2.
A Great Resource
Britain’s ‘Home Front History’ during WW2 is an established popular resource for Historians, Researchers, those in Education and the Media and anyone else with an interest in this era of history.
Today we are able to offer a range of services in our role as a not for profit entity and these include Photo Archives, Talks, Displays and Presentations as well as an Advisory Service to Event Organisers and Venues and the Media/TV/Film sectors.
We are based in the south of England with our own local resources. Over the years we have established a network of contacts across the UK and are able to call on advice, guidance and support as necessary from many knowledgeable third parties.
We have supported and continue to support a number of organisations including Charities, Local Authorities, Public and Private Venues, Visitor Destinations and the Armed Forces. For further details and references please contact us.
First Wave 44
First Wave 44 began in the mid 1990’s, with so many of us being interested in WW2 US Military History it seemed mutually beneficial for us to join together as a group.
Since then we have and still do attend many Military Shows with our static display of US Military items, which continues to grow year by year!
Our core living history is based on US 146th Engineer Combat Battallion or 29th Infantry Division, both of which were stationed in the West Country prior to the Normandy landings.
Torbay at War
We are a Torbay based group of re-enactors, military vehicle owners, historians and history enthusiasts, with the sole aim of preserving the history of Torbay through all wars across all periods.
Torbay has had a large presence in the history of warfare in the U.K., from a Napoleonic Fort in Brixham, WW2 anti-invasion defences , WW2 troops embarking for D-Day, a Trafalgar class submarine named after Torbay, hospitals for injured WW1 soldiers and a visit from Napoleon Bonaparte himself.
Our aim is to preserve, educate and ultimately distribute our knowledge throughout Torbay, Devon and further.
